    When to take action

At every point of your journey we make sure that you know “When to Take Action” – when you need to see a doctor in person. If in doubt or if your symptoms get worse (or aren't getting better), you should always speak to a doctor.

FAQ

How do I use Healthily safely?

If you’re healthy, generally speaking – and don’t have an ongoing or rare medical condition – Healthily can help you identify less serious conditions you may be able to manage yourself. It offers information to help you decide what to do next, including if you should talk to a doctor. Always talk to a doctor before making medical decisions based on any information Healthily provides.

Who can’t use Healthily?

Our app can’t give you information about babies, children aged 15 or younger, if you're pregnant, on immunosuppressive treatment or have a complex or long-term condition.

When should I get help from a doctor?

If in doubt or if your symptoms get worse (or aren't getting better), you should always speak to a doctor. Always call emergency services if you think something is seriously wrong.

What’s the information Healthily offers based on?

Our medical content is based only on high-quality evidence from recognised sources, such as BMJ Best Practice, UpToDate, NICE Clinical Knowledge Summaries, DynaMed, the guidelines of international societies like the World Health Organization and peer-reviewed publications like JAMA and BMJ. All the source material is kept in a database that’s regularly checked.

How does Healthily use my data?

Healthily uses your data to personalise your experience, improve the safety and security of the services it provides, and for analytics, marketing and communications. This includes directly and indirectly identifiable personal data, health data, and technical and analytical information. You can see the Healthily privacy policy here.

Will Healthily contact me?

Healthily may send you push notifications or emails about using our app or self-care tips. If you like, you can turn off push notifications by going to ‘Settings’ while using the app. You can unsubscribe from emails by clicking the link at the bottom of all emails.
